Rewriting is the only feature that sends content outside our own infrastructure, it is optional, and it is switched off until you switch it on. The privacy policy describes what is kept and what is not.
What QuietMeta does
QuietMeta reads the metadata and signed provenance records contained in a file you provide, and can remove categories of that metadata at your request. It operates on the container of the file; image data is not decoded or recompressed. It also finds and removes invisible Unicode characters in text, and can rewrite a text through a third-party language model.
What QuietMeta does not do, and will not claim to do
- It does not prove that a file was created by a human. The absence of a detectable marker proves nothing about origin.
- It does not remove watermarks embedded in pixels. Rewriting a text replaces the words a model chose, which is the only operation that acts on a mark carried by word choice; but neither Anthropic's text watermark nor Google's SynthID can be verified by any third party, so we state no result and no tool honestly can.
- It does not guarantee the outcome of any third-party AI detector.
- It does not remove visible copyright marks, artist signatures or anti-counterfeiting features.
- It never fabricates or forges a provenance record.
Your responsibilities
You may use QuietMeta only on content you own or are authorised to process. You are responsible for the consequences of removing metadata from a file.
Prohibited uses
- Passing off content as something it is not, in any context where the truth of its origin matters.
- Evading a legal transparency obligation, an academic rule, a platform policy or an investigation.
- Stripping authorship or rights information from work you do not own.
- Producing misleading synthetic media.
Availability of the free web version
The web version is provided free of charge, without any availability commitment. It may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn at any time. Statutory warranties applicable to consumers under French law remain unaffected.
Terms of sale — QuietMeta for desktop
What is sold
A perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use QuietMeta for desktop on one computer, for the major version purchased and every earlier one. A later major version is a paid upgrade and never stops the purchased version from working. The full licence terms are displayed during installation and are available on request at contact@quietmeta.app.
Price and tax
19.00 EUR excluding tax. Value added tax is added at the rate of the purchaser's country and shown before payment; the total payable is displayed on the payment page before any commitment. Business purchasers established in the European Union outside France may enter a valid VAT number, in which case the reverse charge mechanism applies and no VAT is charged. Buyers with an active QuietMeta rewriting subscription pay a reduced price — 9.00 EUR excluding tax with a yearly plan, 14.00 EUR with a monthly plan — applied automatically on the purchase page when they are signed in.
Order and payment
Payment is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. We never see and never store your card details. The order is complete when payment is confirmed.
Delivery
Delivery is immediate and electronic: a licence key is sent to the email address given at payment, normally within a few minutes. If it has not arrived within one hour, check your spam folder and then write to contact@quietmeta.app — we will resend it. No physical medium is shipped.
Right of withdrawal
A consumer normally has fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract, without giving a reason (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code).
To withdraw where the right still applies, write to contact@quietmeta.app with your order reference. We refund within fourteen days of being informed, using the same payment method.
Legal guarantee of conformity
Digital content sold to a consumer carries the legal guarantee of conformity of articles L224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code, and the guarantee against hidden defects of articles 1641 and following of the Civil Code. These guarantees are free of charge, cannot be excluded by this contract, and are separate from any commercial gesture. If the software does not conform, you may require it to be brought into conformity and, failing that, obtain a price reduction or a refund.
Consumer mediation
If a complaint made to us in writing has not been resolved, a consumer may refer the dispute free of charge to our consumer mediator, within one year of that written complaint:

Terms of sale — QuietMeta web rewriting subscription

What is sold
A subscription to the AI rewriting feature of this website. It gives you, on the text page, rewriting beyond the free trial, up to 100,000 words per month — roughly 200 pages — and the rewriting of .txt and .md text files. The counter resets every month on the anniversary day of your subscription, not on the first of the month, and your account page shows how much is left. The quota is a real ceiling and we say so here rather than write a word like "unlimited" that no metered service can honour.
While the subscription is active and you are signed in on this website, no advertising is shown to you, and the desktop application is sold to you at a reduced price — 9.00 EUR excluding tax with a yearly plan, 14.00 EUR with a monthly plan, instead of 19.00 EUR, applied on the purchase page. The desktop application itself remains a separate one-off purchase and never requires an account or a subscription.
Price
2.99 EUR per month, or 29.99 EUR per year. Twelve monthly payments come to 35.88 EUR, so the yearly plan saves 5.89 EUR. Where VAT applies it is shown on the payment page before any commitment. Payment is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.; we never see or store your card details.
The account comes after the payment
There is no account to create beforehand. You pay through Stripe Checkout, Stripe confirms the payment to us, and the account is created from that confirmation with the email address you gave. A sign-in link is then emailed to that address; you can request a new one at any time from the account page. If you abandon the payment, no data about you was stored on our side at any point.
Renewal and cancellation
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly as chosen. You can cancel at any time from your account page, which opens Stripe's customer portal: the subscription then runs to the end of the period already paid and does not renew. No cancellation fee, no notice period, no phone call.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code). The subscription is a service that starts as soon as the account is created, at your request. If you withdraw within those fourteen days, we refund the price minus an amount proportional to the service already provided (article L221-25) — in practice, proportional to the words already rewritten. Write to contact@quietmeta.app with the email address of your subscription.
What the feature does, and does not promise
Rewriting sends your text to the third-party model provider named in the privacy policy and returns its rewording. We promise the operation, never a result measured by someone else: no claim about what any detector, platform or person will conclude from the rewritten text. The general limitations and prohibited uses above apply to the subscription as to everything else.
Intellectual property
The QuietMeta name, interface and source code belong to GLOBAL HUMAN INTELLIGENCE CONSULTING. Provenance validation uses the C2PA open-source library published by the Content Authenticity Initiative under its own licence.
Governing law
French law. In the absence of an amicable settlement, the competent courts are those of Paris, subject to the mandatory rules protecting consumers.
Status of this document
These terms were written in-house and have not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. We prefer to say so rather than let the wording imply otherwise. Nothing here reduces the rights French and European consumer law gives you: where this document and the law disagree, the law wins.
